A Little Girls Dream

I did this layout for the April "Talk to me" challenge over at PDW.
Sweet Victorian Violets by Alexis Designs
Winters Garden by Alexis Designs
Springs Grace by Alexis Designs
NLD (feathers) 1001 nights
Font Pea Olson

Journaling:
It all began when I was ten years old.
My nose pressed against the window
of a dance shop, displayed among all the
frilly little tutus were the prettiest little
pair of pink satin toe shoes I had ever
seen. I ran home right away to tell mom
I found the perfect Christmas present for
me.

From that day on ballet became the most
important thing in my life. For the
next two years, I did nothing but breath,
eat, and sleep ballet. At night I would
dream I was the next Clair in the
Nutcracker Suite or dance the role of
Giselle, and of course I danced with
the grace of a feather floating in the air.

The first year was a dream come true,
mom had signed me up for ballet, I
practiced, practiced and practiced
some more, I loved ballet, the grace,
being able to express yourself in
movement. I couldn’t wait to come
home from school and turn on the
music and create my own dances

The second year I met a friend, she
became my best friend. To spend time
with her I started missing my dance
classes, all of a sudden, dance was not
the most important thing in my life.
Mary and I had discovered boys!
My dream of becoming a dancer was
put aside for a time.

As for that little girl that had, her nose
pressed against the window so very long
ago. She is still around somewhere. She
comes out of hiding whenever she sees the
Nutcracker on TV. Her eyes light up just
like a Christmas tree and she remembers
how it was when she floated through the
air as light as a feather….

Favorite Time of the Day wk4

I used the prompt for week 4, what is your favorite time of the day.....

Journaling:
The only time I have alone time and quiet is
early in the morning. I get up extra early
each day so I can enjoy the peace and quiet.
Once everyone is up it’s nonstop noise until
I go to bed at night. I use the quiet time to
enjoy a couple cups of coffee, catch up on
the scrap boards or just enjoy a good book.

One particular morning my peace was interrupted
by my loving husband. You see as soon as he
gets up the whole house knows it, as soon as
his feet hit the floor he’s singing or yelling to
me from the bedroom, wishing me a good
morning. Oooooh my ears, please have mercy
on my poor ears, do you have to talk so loud,
it’s too early.….I tried to finish my layout and
all I could hear was this constant chatter in my
ear, “oh Schweety woman, I’m talking to you”,
why aren’t you talkin to me, Schweety woman,
I love you, Schweety woman……

“Honey you know I need quiet in the morning,
I love you too….now just a few more minutes
please,”
“But Schweety woman I want to talk to you,”
“Phoenix, (our dog) mom doesn’t want to talk
to me.” “Phoenix talk to me….”

As you may have guessed I couldn’t resist
anymore and busted out laughing….he is
such a vital part to my well being, to my
happiness, he makes me smile, he can
interrupt my quiet anytime….

Acceptance wk3

I changed this layout a zillion times! I just wasn't happy with anything it just wasn't showing in visuals what I wanted to convey. I decided the simpler the better and ended up with this page....I LOVE how it turned out. Basically it says that in order to be able to accept I needed to let go of the past. The water (which always symbolized cleaning, refreshing etc.) is exactly what I'm portraying here....a cleansing so to speak of things that I just wouldn't let go.....I can move on now....;>)

Butterfly Kisses

My youngest granddaughter Sydney, she has that innocent, but sassy look in this photo of her. When I saw Lor's latest fragments I knew they were perfect to scrap her with. I blended two of the papers together to get the pattern and color I wanted.

Pre-Work for wk1

I tried and tried to do the first challenge, but I just couldn't go forward because this one was on my mind. I felt I needed to go back in order to move forward. So here is the first page that will go into my book.

It's about the abuse I went through as a child and how I felt and coped with it.

My Journey

January Guild Kit_Time in a bottle

The kit is available with Guild membership at http://www.dsaguild.com/

The last few years I haven't made any resolutions, well because I
never keep them! This year I read a muse that Ro from Scrapgirl put
out and it so touched my soul. Some of the words are hers and some
are mine. This year I felt I needed direction after the last year
of feeling I just floated from day to day and had no purpose. So
my goal for this year, is to find purpose, to search out what God
wants for me. Thank you Ro for the inspiration.

Journeling:
I won't worry how long my journey will take.
I vow to just start it now. I will step out
in faith believing that my Heavenly Father
doesn't make mistakes. I AM not a mistake, I
am His beloved child and He wants me to be happy.
I will try to find my lost self, to be what He
made me to be. To find purpose in life and not
just drift from day to day. Today I begin my
journey and will find myself at the end of that
road.

I just found out that this layout made the GSO at DST, I'm so thrilled, not only because it made the GSO, but because someone else was touched by what I wrote.  Thank you Kathi, may you have a blessed 2010...
