We Flock Together

Nov. 01, 2020 - The chicks are now 3 weeks old.  They first arrived at the Martinez farm on Oct. 8th.  Risa and her mom nurtured them and watched them grow.  Soon they will be collecting eggs from them.

Battle Belongsa

 I was inspired by a song at church this morning, it stayed with me all day.  I looked it up, it’s a song by Phil Wickham called Battle Belongs.  It was inspired by Bible verse 2 Chronicles 20:17, ‘Battle Belongs’ tells the story of a true test of faith when God asked His people to lay down their arms in the middle of battle. The people put absolute trust in God to see them through this hard fight.

So with that being said I lay down my arms in a middle of a battle and fight it on my knees.

Perfect Day

October 12, 2020 - It was a wonderful day in Arkansas. Isaac took us for an outing to show us a little bit of the area. We had lunch at Belleville Station, they served the best hamburgers and fries. After lunch we took a drive through a part of the Ozark Mountains, we had a glorious view of the valley.

Kaitlyn's First Car

 Kaitlyn will soon get her drivers permit.  She would have originally have inherited "The Beast" a gas guzzling Suburban.  But as luck would have it, big brother was in a fender bender and it would not have been cost effective to have it repaired.  So the search for a car ensued.  She luck out in finding this cute bug and will be thrilled to be driving it around and having new adventures in it.

Feeling Out of Sorts

It just seems I've been out of sorts all year.  Too many negative things going on all at one time.  I started this layout weeks ago and finished it today.  I say finished, but I keep looking at it and feel it's not complete it needs more.  But for now I'm calling it done.

Happy Birthday Sydney

5-1-20:  You've reached a milestone, you are finally a teenager.  Mom and Dad wanted to make this a special day for you, but with the Covid-19 restrictions in place they had to get creative.  They arranged a surprise drive by from all your friends.  It was amazing to see the support and turnout from them.  Wish we could have been there to see it live.  Love Oma and Gampi!

Melt Down

Risa had a major melt down yesterday, this is what she said.

4-21-2020:  On the way home Risa was real quie, Stef asked her if she was okay and she replied that she was just tired.  When they got home she was still quiet and staring at a blank TV screen and Stef asked her if she was okay.  Well that broke the dam and she started to cry uncontrollably and said she missed all her friends and just wished all this was all over.  My poor granddaughter who is 6 yrs old is feeling the restrictions and breaking down due to the social distancing.  I truely hope things loosen up and we can get together sooner than later.

4-16-20:  Time for our bi-weekly shopping.  While grocery shopping this lady kept telling us "6 feet", we couldn't figure out what she meant, we kept our distance from everyone.  I wonder if she meant Jim and I should be 6 ft apart???  With that being said, wearing the bandana  I felt like a bandit ready to rob the place.  I also had trouble breathing with it on and was getting hot and felt I was beginning to hyperventilate.  I was so releaved to get outside and pull the bandana down so I could breath again.  After grocery shopping we went to Target to get some personal hygiene and household items.  I made it to the checkout counter and had to have Jim finish the packing of items while I stepped out to get some fresh air.  I hope the masks we ordered come soon, not sure if I can take wearing the bandana again.
